Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) more popularly known as her real name Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be associated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. On the 21st of October, 2016 she dropped Pho, her first EP under the Dreamville Records label. It was at this point that she gained her first notoriety. Her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox first released music online in 2012. Her debut album Ariography and her mixtape debut in 2013 Five Finger Discount. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her own single Bound, as well as the mixtape she self-released, Five Finger Discount. The track Sweat it is featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21 2015. The following year, her music was circulating all over the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some references for Rihanna. The announcement that she would be signed by Dreamville Records was made on December 8th. Backseat was her contribution to The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. In October 2016, she released her first EP, Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. The singer also performed on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus together with Bas and her labelmates. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanied music video on September 5. She released her second single, Grampa on November 9. In November 13, she dropped two singles titled One and Pedigree. One as well as Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby was then able to make an appearance in the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She released this track as a single to promote her debut titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The track was accompanied by a music video in February 20th, 2019 that surpassed three million views on YouTube in its first seven days. In December of 2018, she was a supporting act on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
